Peabody Concerts

Ever since I was accepted into the graduate program at Peabody, I have been patiently waiting (and hoping) to play under the baton of the great Marin Alsop, principal guest conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra and former conductor of the Baltimore Symphony. This month, I finally get that chance as she returns to conduct the Peabody Symphony Orchestra.

Peabody large ensembles are on tour in the Baltimore area this fall as renovations continue on our main concert hall, but all concerts are still live-streamed, which can be found on the Peabody events page.

As you have probably heard, I have won and accepted the position of Co-Principal trumpet with the Lynchburg Symphony! Since the LSO does a fusion of classical and jazz concerts, this Co-Principal position was added to have a "classical specialist" in addition to the standing principal trumpet who specializes in jazz performance. I will still be involved in the jazz/pops concerts, but will act as principal on the classical programs. Check out the concerts for this season, and don't be a stranger if you live in the Lynchburg area!

Summer Music Highlights

Here are videos from two of my favorite musical moments this summer: performing in the BSO Academy recital with pianist Lura Johnson, and joining organist Brian Bartoldus for a service at Frederick (MD) Presbyterian Church. Collaborating with these fine musicians and several others was a great way to spend my summer!

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for holiday events!

The Art of Baroque Trumpet Having studied Baroque trumpet since the beginning of this school year with international soloist Josh Cohen, I will finally be making my public debut on the instrument! I have been infatuated with the Baroque style for most of my career, so it is very satisfying to play on a modern recreation of the trumpet used in this era. Baltimore Baroque Band - G.P.
