Chosen Vale fundraiser: Thank you!!I am overwhelmed by the amount of support I have received toward my goal of raising $2500 for the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale trumpet seminar! Thanks to your generosity, I am only $250 away from my goal! The summer program at Chosen Vale is a two-week intensive program where students are given a full schedule of masterclasses and rehearsals to participate in. The program is led by resident faculty and renowned guest artists representing some of the world's finest musical institutions. It is a great environment for advanced students and young professionals to hone their skills. I am excited and honored to have this time to explore new and challenging music and take my artistry to a higher level. If you would still like to help towards this goal or help with general financial needs like travel for auditions and solo competitions, you can still send money via Venmo, or send a check to my Athens address below. Your support is vital to my growth and success as a musician and is always deeply appreciated. Venmo: @tptjake Jake Landau Unit 1231 Athens, GA 30605 January Highlight: Haydn Trumpet ConcertoWritten in the late eighteenth century when the characteristics and playing abilities of the trumpet were still in their adolescent stage, the Haydn concerto is one of few solo works written for the instrument during the Classical Period. Yet it remains to this day one of the most beautiful pieces in trumpet literature. "The Concerto is not only the best, but the most popular he ever wrote," declares scholar Edward Downes regarding the piece, who stated about the Andante movement: "The songful middle movement is pensive and purposely darker in mood than the two outer movements." Here is a video from January of me and pianist Justin Jeffery performing the second movement of Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E flat. I hope you enjoy it!

The Art of Baroque Trumpet Having studied Baroque trumpet since the beginning of this school year with international soloist Josh Cohen, I will finally be making my public debut on the instrument! I have been infatuated with the Baroque style for most of my career, so it is very satisfying to play on a modern recreation of the trumpet used in this era. Baltimore Baroque Band - G.P.
